The International Trade Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs entrusted the Taiwan External Trade Development Council(TAITRA) to handle the "Central and Eastern European Sales Promotion Group" to Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland and Romania to promote sales, a total of 19 Taiwanese companies participated, with industries covering CNC lathes, LEDs, electrical and electronics, hardware fasteners, functional textiles and consumer goods. Through a variety of products, the strong strength of Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprises was demonstrated. The four-stop negotiation meeting of the group attracted a total of 215 buyers, and it is estimated that the business opportunities generated are US$21.48 million.
Poland is the largest market in Central and Eastern Europe and the sixth largest economy in the European Union, with a population of nearly 40 million, ranking fifth. The group also held a "Poland Taiwan Week" event in Poland to feature Taiwan's technology, food, and tourism. With culture as the main theme, Taiwan's image and high-quality products are promoted, attracting Poland's largest household products Amica and Central and Eastern Europe's largest e-commerce company Allegro to attend negotiations.
Many buyers have said that the image of Taiwanese products has improved in Europe in recent years. Although the prices are on the high side, the quality is obvious to all. In the machine tool section, most of the equipment from Central and Eastern European companies comes from Germany, mainland China and Turkey. Members of the team that produce CNC lathes and equipment found that buyers from Bulgaria who were competitors in the past also came to ask if they could take orders for entry-level metal processing machines and parts. We cooperated to supply European customers and jointly improved the resilience of the supply chain. We are deeply impressed by the fruitful sales expansion results and exceeded expectations.
The success of the "Central and Eastern Europe Investment Layout and Sales Group" has opened up new horizons for Taiwan's bathroom hardware industry, and Varnahome has played a significant role in promoting innovative Kitchen and Bath Improvement. The positive response from major buyers, coupled with the increased reputation of Taiwanese products in Europe, presents significant growth opportunities for the industry. As the construction boom in Central and Eastern Europe continues, there will be more business opportunities in the future. This delegation not only demonstrated the strength of Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprises, but also laid the foundation for establishing long-term cooperation and market expansion in this dynamic region of Central and Eastern Europe.
